LRBT's 15 Millionth Patient
The Hakeem family was overjoyed when Abdul Rehman was born. Their joy soon turned to sorrow when they realized he was blind. His father took him to a doctor in Quetta who diagnosed Abdul Rehman with congenital cataract. Surgery would cost Rs. 20,000 ($250) - 5x Hakeem's salary.
Three years later, a friend advised Hakeem to take his son to LRBT's eye hospital in Quetta. Abdul Rehman was operated on free of charge at the LRBT hospital and regained his eyesight.

Uzma
LRBT's 14 Millionth Patient
Uzma is a Grade 1 student and lives in a remote village of Balochistan. Her farther earns Rs. 6,000 ($80) a month to support a family of 8. Uzma's teacher noticed that her vision had started to deteriorate. and an ophthamologist diagnosed her with cataract in both eyes. Surgery would cost Rs. 10,000 per eye, which her family could not afford.
A friend told her father to take her to LRBT's Quetta hospital. There, Uzma underwent free cataract surgery and is now back in school looking forward to a bright future.
